What is the WEMSA Cloud?
The Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Association (WEMSA) is proud to launch the EMS Data Center project, an initiative to strengthen the data retention and data management capabilities of EMS departments across Wisconsin. In collaboration with the Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) Agency and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), WEMSA has constructed a dedicated data storage facility at our office headquarters in Wind Lake, WI.
If you would like more information before signing up on how the data center works, and why your department should utilize this resource, you can watch the informational video below:
This data center is designed to provide robust data redundancy and storage capabilities, ensuring EMS departments maintain critical operational data securely and efficiently. This data center, the WEMSA Cloud, will serve as a secondary or tertiary data storage location for EMS departments to store sensitive information, such as HIPAA data, personnel records, and operational protocols, safeguarding against data loss due to environmental disasters or cyber threats like ransomware. As the secondary and tertiary storage location, the WEMSA Cloud can help you comply with 3-2-1 Data Storage Compliance as an offsite storage option. This FREE cloud service is available to all licensed EMS departments and aims to help departments ensure proper data storage compliance, reduce risks of data loss, and increase data loss mitigation. By offering this storage solution at no cost to EMS departments, we aim to assist in achieving proper data compliance and implementing robust data storage policies across the state.
